Battle for Libya: Key moments
Libya's
National Transitional Council has buried Muammar Gaddafi, his son Mutassim, and
a former aide at a secret location in the desert at dawn, sources told Al
Jazeera.
This comes after the bodies had been moved late on Monday from a
commercial freezer in a warehouse area of Misrata, where they had been put on
public display.
Gaddafi was killed after his hometown, Sirte, was seized by NTC
fighters last Thursday.
At the time, NTC commanders said they had wrested the toppled
leader's last remaining stronghold, thereby liberating the entire
country. It was a watershed moment for Libya that has been swept by
turmoil over the past several months.
Al Jazeera looks back at some of the key developments since the
uprising against Gaddafi began.
