CSKA Moscow's star Roman Eremenko hit with a two-year ban

Moscow's midfielder Roman Eremenko has on Friday, November 18, 2016 been hit
with a two-year ban by European football governing body (UEFA) after traces of
cocaine were discovered in his doping sample. The Finland international tested
positive to cocaine following his performance on September 14, 2016 when CSKA
Moscow and Bayer Leverkusen met in the UEFA
Champions League duel in which
Eremenko got the equalizing goal for the Russian club as the tie ended 2 - 2.
He
was later summoned to undergo a doping test by UEFA in which he was tested
positive to bad substance, and UEFA has however slammed a two-year ban on him.
It
was however announced that the result of the match would stand
regardless the hammer nailed on the player.
Meanwhile,
the 29-year-old who has played 73 games for Finland has an option to appeal the
judgement imposed on him by UEFA. Roman Eremenko was the 2014/15 Russian
premier League player of the season.
