Influential singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen has died at age 82
Sony Music Canada confirmed Cohen's
death on the singer's Facebook page. The cause of death has not been
released.
Cohen's best-known song, Hallelujah,
written in 1984, spawned more than 100 recorded versions.
Cohen was born born Sept. 21, 1934, in
Quebec, Canada. He learned guitar as a teenager and moved to the
United States in 1967
to pursue music.
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame in 2008.
Cohen released his last album, You Want It Darker, just three
weeks ago.
