Lawyer, baker, 3-yr-old boy kidnapped in Nsukka
Nsukka—Kidnappers
over the weekend, invaded Nsukka and abducted a prominent lawyer, baker and a
three-year-old boy of Model Primary School, Nsukka.
Vanguard gathered that the prominent baker, simply identified as Chief Vincent Okonkwo, alias Ogadimma, was abducted along with the lawyer, identified as Josephat Nzewi, alias
Ohanaeze chambers, who lives at Ugwu Echara Street, close
to where the boy, identified as Ewezugachukwu Emmanuel Elias, was abducted at
his school. Investigations revealed that the baker, who is described as
benevolent, was returning from a funeral ceremony at Ngwo in Udi Local
Government Area of the state in company of the lawyer, when the kidnappers
struck. An eyewitness, who would not want his name in print, told Vanguard that
the incident occurred around 7p.m. The eyewitness told Vanguard that both the
lawyer and the baker allegedly resisted, but when the abductors started shooting
into the air, people scampered for safety and the kidnappers forced their
victims into their Sienna car and fled. Meanwhile, the three-year-old boy,
Ewezugachukwu, was abducted while school was in session. Reports revealed that
the pupil had gone out of the class to urinate, when a woman offered him
biscuit and took him away. Vanguard investigations showed that residents of the
university town are currently living in fear over reports of kidnap, robbery
and rape mostly at Aku road, Odeigwe and the lonely Adani-Nsukka expressroad.
Contacted, Enugu State police Spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said the state
command has intensified efforts to ensure the victims regained their freedom
