Peterside noted that a statement credited to state commissioner for Information after a state executive council meeting revealed that the attorney-general had been directed to prosecute the APC deputy governorship candidate, Asita Okorie for the murder of an NYSC member at Akinima in Ahoada West local government area during the March 19, 2016 rerun legislative elections. The attorneygeneral was also directed to prosecute the APC House of Representatives candidate for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo federal constituency, Barry Mpigi, for the alleged murder of a pregnant woman whose name was given as Mrs Baby Nzuuga in Kpite Tai area of the state. Peterside said Wike’s latest action was that of a mischievous, drowning man, clutching at anything that would make him stay afloat.
